Champagnes Michel Furdyna. Michel and Marie-Noëlle produce plump, full-flavoured Champagnes from their vineyards which span 6 villages in the Côte des Bar, the slightly warmer district in the south of the region.

The estate

The wines are dominated by the red Pinot Noir grape which covers 85% of their vineyards. The remainder is planted with Chardonnay and the now rare Pinot Blanc. Historically this variety was traditional in Champagne (now best known in Alsace) though new plantings are no longer permitted.  The Pinot Noir grape creates rich, red fruit aromas and the wines tend to mature and evolve more quickly than those where Chardonnay plays a leading role, especially in vineyards this far south.

Family Michel Furdyna

Michel and Marie-Noëlle Furdyna created their own brand in 1974 and sell their first bottle in 1976. Their nephew Mathieu is working hard with them at the domain getting all the experience he will need to take over in the future.

Champagnes Furdyna Wines

The Furdyna style is developed and forward, providing a slightly more muscular alternative to our Chardonnay-dominated wines, for rounded, toast-y Champagnes with some weight behind them. They are pleasingly approachable, very crowd-friendly and versatile with many dishes.

Wines available:

Brut Rose

If you are looking for a single bottle, enjoy the award winning Furdyna Brut Rosé nv, produced from 100% black Pinot Noir grapes and packed with ripe, red fruit flavours. This extremely versatile wine is suited to a wide range of flavours or is simply divine on its own.

Produced by the gentle ‘saignee’ method where the grape skins are left in contact with the juice during gentle crushing to create the colour. This sophisticated rosé is dry with a savoury backbone, definitely a more serious approach than the softer Lacroix style.

You will be surprised how versatile this wine can be with a wide range of flavours – we love it with charcuterie and pink lamb or duck, or of course just on its own.

Our posh pink!

“La Loge” Blanc de Noir

Blanc de Noirs Champagne (100% Pinot Noir).  Both undergo extended ageing on the yeast lees making them rich and expressive. La Loge is a single Vintage wine, produced from older vines and in only the best years, creating greater depth, length and weight. Typical Pinot characteristics of ripe strawberry and raspberry abound. with an (attractive!) hint of earth which marks it out as quintessential Blanc de Noirs.
